Two Highly Respected Texas Family Law Firms Announce Merger

Dallas-based GoransonBain Ausley and Austin-based Ausley, Algert, Robertson, and Flores will combine to build a larger footprint for family law in Texas

Goranson Bain and Ausley Algert Robertson & Flores MergeOver the last 40 years, two Texas family law firms independently created a firm for guiding people constructively through complex family law issues. Today, GoransonBain Ausley and Ausley, Algert, Robertson, & Flores have chosen to merge, combining their expertise to build on long-standing records of successful and ethical representation of clients.

The merger brings together two highly respected Texas family law firms. The combined firm of 28 lawyers will keep the GoransonBain Ausley name but will conduct business as GoransonBain Ausley in Austin.

“This merger of equals represents a choice rather than a necessity,” said Curtis W. Harrison , Managing Partner of GoransonBain Ausley. “GoransonBain Ausley recognized the strong alignment with the Ausley firm regarding vision, culture and expertise. By coming together as one firm, we can deliver exceptional value to our clients and peers in Austin, Plano and Dallas.”

Thomas L. Ausley founded Ausley, Algert, Robertson, & Flores in 1978 and built a practice based on excellence, integrity and professionalism. Today Ausley Algert, Robertson, & Flores is a leading family law firm in Austin and the central Texas area.

“Merging our firms will leverage the experience, depth and breadth of both firms, providing clients with increased access to constructive solutions,” said Tom Ausley.

GoransonBain Ausley, founded in Dallas by Thomas P. Goranson and Angeline L. Bain 30 years ago has fostered a culture of collegiality, client-centered value and integrity which has earned the firm high regard from both clients and peers.

Together the new firm will include many of the most respected and recognized family lawyers in the state. Their partners have been named Best Lawyers® “Lawyer of the Year” for eight consecutive year in Family Law or Collaborative Law: Family Law; and both Ausley and GoransonBain Ausley have been ranked “Best Law Firms” by U.S. News-Best Lawyers.

“I hope that with our combined experience and client-centered philosophies we can influence more broadly how family law is practiced in Texas,” said Angeline L. Bain. “And, I hope and believe we will allow more people to have the best possible experience during their greatest time of need.”

With a larger presence in Texas, GoransonBain Ausley can offer clients more attorneys, more resources, and more access to the constructive, strategic and intelligent resolution of family law matters.
