Holiday of Hope Toy Drive and Hope Alliance Holiday Program
This year, GoransonBain Ausley participated in the Holiday of Hope Toy Drive benefiting the Dallas Children’s Advocacy Center and through the Hope Alliance Holiday Program by adopting a family in need.
The Austin donations were able to provide for 2 women. “When a woman has lost everything but her children, the holidays can be scary and emotionally draining. It’s very hard for our [Hope Alliance] clients to ask for help, but parents are amazing and put their children first. Donating gift cards to local retail super stores (Wal-Mart, Target, HEB) allows mothers to participate in the holiday traditions most of us enjoy. She can pick out a gift for her child, choose the wrapping paper the child(ren) will like and wrap the gift while the child(ren) sleeps. These gift cards also allow her to practice budgeting skills, purchase her family’s favorite holiday foods, and buy gas to get them to appointments.”
The presents under this tree have gone to children in the DFW area who are the victims of abuse and who otherwise might otherwise not have a holiday or receive a gift this year.
A servant leader is defined as one who makes sure that other people’s highest priority needs are being served before his or her own. A servant leader focuses primarily on the growth and well-being of people and the communities to which they belong. This definition of a servant leader applies to all of us at GBA, and contributes to what makes this such a wonderful place to work.
Thank you to everyone’s generosity during this holiday season.
