'THE BEST WOMEN LAWYERS IN DALLAS' BY D MAGAZINE
DALLAS - Angeline "Angie" Lindley Bain, Paula Larsen, Beth Maultsby and
Kathryn J. Murphy, all partners at the law firm Goranson, Bain, Larsen, Greenwald, Maultsby & Murphy PLLC, have been recognized by D Magazine as four of "The Best Women Lawyers in Dallas." The latest results were announced in the May 2010 edition of the publication. Nominations for the award are compiled by referrals from other Texas lawyers within the primary area of practice and then evaluated by a panel of eminent lawyers who met with the D Magazine editors to determine the list. All of the partners were recognized in the Family Law category.
Bain's background as a former child abuse case worker and her judicial experience have led her to believe strongly in fair interest-based settlements in family matters. This philosophy has led her to the forefront of Collaborative Law, a divorce negotiation process in which the parties and their attorneys cooperate to keep the dissolution of the marriage out of the courthouse. She is now working to further the use of Collaborative Law around the United States by teaching the Interdisciplinary Model of Collaborative Law to lawyers, judges, mental health professionals and financial professionals in other states.
Larsen has more than 30 years of family law experience, including 11 years of prior judicial experience as an associate judge and a district judge in the Dallas family courts. She has been Board Certified in family law since 1985, and handles significant property cases, divorces involving children, and premarital and post-marital agreements. Her practice emphasizes collaborative family law, an innovative approach for the amicable resolution of divorce cases without litigation.
Maultsby has been dedicated to helping families for more than 30 years by serving as a judge, lawyer and social worker. She specializes in handling cases involving issues of substance abuse, mental illness, domestic violence, and abuse of children. She has been appointed by courts and retained by other attorneys to represent children in difficult family law matters. Her practice includes all aspects of family law including complex property issues and child-related matters. She often serves as a mediator and practices Collaborative Law.
Murphy is Board Certified in Family Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and practices in Dallas and Collin County. She is a member of the Texas Academy of Family Law Specialists and a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers and the Texas Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, where she is President Elect. She is a member of the Family Law Council of the State Bar of Texas, and the Family Law Sections of the Dallas Bar Association and Collin County Bar Association.
