DALLAS - Lake Highlands' resident Angeline "Angie" Lindley Bain, a partner at the law firm Goranson, Bain, Larsen, Greenwald, Maultsby & Murphy PLLC, has been recognized by D Magazine as one of "The Best Women Lawyers in Dallas." The latest results were announced in the May 2010 edition of the publication. Nominations for the award are compiled by referrals from other Texas lawyers within the primary area of practice and then evaluated by a panel of eminent lawyers who met with the D Magazine editors to determine the list. Ms. Larsen was recognized in the Family Law category.
"This recognition from my peers is a great compliment," said Bain. "And, I would like to congratulate all of the other honorees who join me on the list for their commitment to our industry."
Angie's background as a former child abuse case worker and her judicial experience have led her to believe strongly in fair interest-based settlements in family matters. This philosophy has led her to the forefront of Collaborative Law, a divorce negotiation process in which the parties and their attorneys cooperate to keep the dissolution of the marriage out of the courthouse. Angie is now working to further the use of Collaborative Law around the United States by teaching the Interdisciplinary Model of Collaborative Law to lawyers, judges, mental health professionals and financial professionals in other states.
Angie's practice emphasizes complex property litigation and cases involving child-related issues. A primary goal of her practice is to minimize the negative impact of divorce on children, as evidenced by her term served on the board of directors of the Dallas Advocacy Center.
